Raivavae

an easy trekking to start with...

the day was young

when our guide showed up

we were ready for the first trek

on the way up, a pause to listen to the guide

and admire

and meditate

in some places we had to use the rope

encountering the footsteps of an ancient heroe left in the rock

seeking shelter from the pouring rain

walking through a place of vestiges of the past maohi culture and religion

at home, as the night is setting, a beautiful encounter with a little island angel...

Trekking in Raivavae

Austral Islands

Te Ao Maohi, or french Polynesia as it is nowadays called, is a blue water country as large as Europe with over a hundred islands

here, the island of Raivavae, in the Austral Islands: 

 a map of the different trekkings we would do over a week time

We left Tahiti, and after a stop over in Tubuai island,

we reached Raivavae 

where we were greeted with music, songs and danses

We were then taken to the church Fare Amuiraa where we would be sleeping and fed buy the Protestant Church parishers

food was served

the air was crisp and the night was coming down

we were ready for a week of trekking across Raivavae

Il n'y a rien de plus merveilleux qu'une randonnée pour découvrir un pays, une île...

Je voudrais vous inviter à visiter mon île

Vous m'accompagnerez sur les chemins de la randonnée

à travers les rivières et les montagnes de Tahiti

et parfois dans les autres îles de mon pays Maohi

Vous avez certainement entendu parler ou vu des photos ou des films de nos plages légendaires

J'essaierai de vous montrer Tahiti de l'intérieur...

Nous appelons ce trekking: "les sept cascades"

L'accès est facile pour les trois premières cascades

puis devient plus sportif pour l'accès aux suivantes

Lorsqu'enfin on atteint le sommet

la vue sur la presqu'île et l'océan est exceptionnelle
